As our company continues to grow, we are seeing and learning more everyday when it comes to events. More specifically, event app expectations and what a perfect event app builder might look like. Personally, as a Customer Success Rep for Socio, I work with event planners from small associations to Fortune 500 companies. And as the summer comes to an end, one thing that we know for certain is that Julius Solaris and Beckie Cross couldn’t have been more right than when they said, “2017 is the year that will be remembered in the event app world.” (The Event App Bible 2017).
For those of you who don’t yet know, this year app usage in events is at an all-time high. But this is not all. One of the most noteworthy topics this year is Apple stealing all of the spotlight with their announcement that they will soon begin blocking white label apps from their store…
The direction of event apps is changing, and there is no stopping this change. As a result, it is up to those who are in the event space to help build the path and set the expectations for where the industry is going. Socio plans on playing a big part in laying out that path. Today we are excited to announce something that our team has been working on over the past few months. This is the all new Socio Platform, our event app builder that lets our customers build, manage and analyze their event app. With this complete redesign of our Platform, we are bringing forward the ability to build a powerful event app through extreme customization. And as the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility, which is why we paid the utmost attention on making sure that the process remained simple by being both intuitive and efficient.
First of all, it is YOUR event! And no-one knows your attendees better than you, which is why we allow you to both customize and control the content throughout the app creation process.
By using simple yet power features like drag-and-drop, the all-new Event App Builder presents your content in the same format your attendees will see it. While it sounds straightforward, the importance of allowing you to build your app from the same eyes of your attendees is invaluable.
With the new event app builder, we have improved our content upload process. Importing your Agenda, Speakers, Sponsors, etc. is more comprehensive than ever before.
With a new mobile responsive design, our Event App Builder allows you to oversee your event using your computer from your office, the tablet you carry around while preparing for your event, or from the phone in your pocket during your event at all times! We made sure our product works when your event needs you because your event isn’t run from your office, so neither should your software!
Some events can’t be managed by one person. For this reason, we have built an enterprise level ability to manage and edit events as a team.
We allow you to build your app and see the changes happen live on your phone. It is important to make sure that you are able to feel and experience exactly what your attendees will, which is why we provide the ability to check out and update your app in real-time.
This is one of the biggest updates we made towards building the most customizable event app in the market. Ability to link items like sessions, speakers, documents, sponsors to each other is now available.
After supporting hundreds of event planners, I have learned you are all selfless people. You will do anything to deliver an amazing experience for your attendees. This has always been and will continue to be a spotlight for Socio. With that in mind, here is a recap of some of the features we have improved in our apps:
It is your attendees that truly make up an event, and it is important to allow them to make it known. This is why we allow a wall for attendees to make posts and for everyone to be able engage with each other.
Building relationships is the most important part of any event, so we have broken down the barrier to chat and setup meetings between attendees.
There is not just one universal reason why all attendees come to your event. This is important to remember. We allow you to group your sessions into different tracks allowing your attendees to see the tracks they are most interested in. Furthermore, we allow them to actually build out their own personal agenda before they even show up!
Your sponsors and speakers are not all the same or all equal. It is important for your attendees to be able to see the difference. We allow you to categorize your items how you see fit!
We love when our event organizers push us and as a result, we have built some awesome integrations. One of our favorites is an integration with Lyft to help attendees easily navigate through different venues of your event!
